380+ Kitchens Remodeled Since 2011 — Licensed Contractor Serving Orchard Park, Hamburg & East Aurora
Who We Are — And Why We Only Do Kitchens (and Bathrooms)
Mid City Home Restoration was founded in 2011 by a three-person crew who’d spent the previous decade working for larger Western New York contractors—and got tired of watching good projects get rushed, corners get cut, and homeowners get handed off to whoever was available that week. We started with whole-house renovations, but by 2014, we realized our best work happened in kitchens and bathrooms, where the details actually matter and the trades need to coordinate like a surgical team. So we stopped chasing every job and focused on the rooms where most contractors screw up: the ones with plumbing, electrical, gas lines, and finishes that show every mistake. Today, we run a crew of four full-time carpenters and project leads, plus a rotating roster of licensed electricians and plumbers we’ve worked with for 8–10 years. We don’t subcontract to the lowest bidder. We don’t run six jobs at once. And we don’t take commercial work, custom cabinetry builds, or anything that pulls focus from the residential kitchen and bath projects we’ve spent 13 years getting right. If you want a contractor who treats your Orchard Park kitchen like it’s the only one that matters this month, that’s the model. If you want the biggest crew or the flashiest showroom, we’re not it.
Recent Kitchen Projects in Orchard Park, Hamburg, and East Aurora
Here’s what we’ve completed in the past 18 months across the Southtowns. Every project below was scoped, permitted, and finished by Mid City Home Restoration crews, with licensed subs handling electrical and plumbing where required.
**Orchard Park — South Buffalo Street** Full kitchen gut and reconfiguration in a 1985 colonial. Removed load-bearing wall between kitchen and dining room (engineered beam install), relocated plumbing for new island sink, installed quartz countertops, shaker-style cabinetry, and luxury vinyl plank flooring. Included new electrical panel upgrade to support induction range. **Cost:** $48,000–$52,000 | **Timeline:** 6 weeks
**Hamburg — Lake Shore Road** Galley kitchen refresh in a 1960s ranch. Kept existing layout, replaced cabinets and countertops, added tile backsplash, upgraded to stainless appliances, refinished original hardwood floors. No structural changes, no permit required. **Cost:** $22,000–$26,000 | **Timeline:** 3 weeks
**East Aurora — Oakwood Avenue** Craftsman-era kitchen restoration with period-appropriate details. Rebuilt original plaster walls, installed custom tile backsplash, refaced existing oak cabinets, added farmhouse sink with new plumbing rough-in, restored original wood floors. Maintained historic character while updating function. **Cost:** $34,000–$38,000 | **Timeline:** 5 weeks
**West Seneca — Orchard Park Road** Mid-century kitchen modernization in a 1972 split-level. Removed soffits, installed new cabinetry to ceiling height, added undercabinet LED lighting, quartz countertops, subway tile backsplash, and new luxury vinyl flooring. Upgraded electrical for dishwasher and disposal. **Cost:** $29,000–$33,000 | **Timeline:** 4 weeks
Every project timeline assumes normal permitting delays (7–10 business days in Orchard Park, 5–7 in Hamburg, 10–14 in East Aurora) and no hidden structural issues discovered during demo. We’ll walk you through what to expect during your site visit.
What Our Orchard Park and Hamburg Clients Say
**Sarah, Orchard Park** “We had Mid City redo our 1980s kitchen last spring—took down the wall to the dining room, added an island, and finally got rid of the oak cabinets that had been stained three different colors over the years. The crew showed up on time, kept the dust contained as much as possible, and didn’t leave us without a working sink for more than two days. The whole thing took five weeks, which was exactly what they said at the start. No surprises, no drama.”
**Tom, Hamburg** “Our galley kitchen was original to the house—1967, avocado appliances and all. Mid City kept the layout but replaced everything else: cabinets, countertops, floor, backsplash. They coordinated the plumber and electrician, handled the village permit, and finished in three weeks. The price came in right where they estimated. Honest crew, no runaround.”
**Jennifer, East Aurora** “We wanted to update our kitchen without losing the craftsman character of the house. Mid City rebuilt the plaster walls properly, found tile that matched the era, and refinished the original floors instead of covering them up. They understood what we were trying to preserve, which most contractors didn’t. The project took a little longer because of the detail work, but it was worth it.”
**Mike, West Seneca** “Mid City gutted our 70s kitchen and brought it into this decade—new cabinets to the ceiling, quartz counters, tile backsplash, the works. They were straightforward about what things would cost and how long it would take. No sales pitch, no pressure. Just showed up, did the work, and cleaned up every day. Finished in four weeks.”
Mid City Home Restoration offers a 1-year workmanship warranty on every kitchen remodeling project we complete. This covers any defect in our installation work—cabinets that aren’t level, tile that cracks due to improper substrate prep, trim that separates, or finishes that fail because of application error. If we installed it and it’s not right, we come back and fix it at no charge. The warranty does not cover manufacturer defects in materials (those carry separate manufacturer warranties), damage caused by homeowner modifications, or normal wear and tear. It also doesn’t cover issues caused by deferred maintenance, like a roof leak that damages new cabinetry months after we’ve left. We’re covering our work, not your house’s other systems. If something goes wrong during the warranty period, you call our main line at (833) 736-6647, describe the issue, and we’ll schedule a visit within 5–7 business days to assess and resolve it. We’ve been doing this since 2011, and warranty claims are rare—but when they happen, we handle them the same week.
Yes, and here’s why that matters: Orchard Park has a housing stock that ranges from 1950s ranches south of Big Tree Road to 1990s colonials near Highmark Stadium, and the kitchens in those homes weren’t built the same way. A 1950s ranch might have plaster walls, cast iron plumbing, and a fuse box that needs upgrading before you can add a second oven. A 1990s colonial might have drywall, PEX plumbing, and a 200-amp panel—but also builder-grade cabinets that are already falling apart. We price those jobs differently because the scope is different, and we don’t pretend otherwise during the estimate.
Hamburg brings a different housing mix, with older village homes near the Lake Erie lakefront and mid-century ranches that have often been in families for generations. Those kitchens often have quirks: original plaster walls, galley layouts that were never meant to be opened up, or pl
